Nestled on a hillside and boasting a fabulous sunny lake view sun terrace, this modernised property is situated in an exclusive residence which has been built in the ancient grounds of a noble villa in the charming and well-serviced village of Fiumelatte. The modernised property is ideal for small to medium-sized groups up to 6, with a spacious open-plan living room with sofa, flat-screen TV and direct access through French doors to the splendid terrace. A dining area seating up to 6 is situated in the open-plan lake-view room, and a stylish separate kitchen fitted in a contemporary finish with modern-day appliances ideal for a comfortable self-catering holiday is situated off the living room. Appliances include a gas hob oven, toaster, electric kettle, microwave and coffee machine. The sunny lake view terrace is of an extremely generous size with enough space for sunbathing on the sun-loungers and for dining alfresco, with incredible panoramic views of the famous Golden Triangle towns of Varenna, Bellagio and Menaggio! The breathtaking lake view really serves as the most memorable backdrop to your holiday here and is truly unique, with surrounding views of the ancient villa grounds with its historical grotto fountain and the famous Fiumelatte river which gushes down past the apartment. The property ideally sleeps 4-6 guests with a spacious master bedroom with double bed leading out onto a sunny balcony terrace and a second bedroom furnished with a small double bed and study desk. The double sofa bed in the living room can also be used to accommodate additional guests as and when required. There is free and paid public parking. A modern bathroom fitted with a power shower, wash basin, WC, bidet and washing machine completes the property, and a private garage is located in the gated grounds. Pets are not permitted. The picturesque village of Fiumelatte provides guests with a local grocery shop, bakery and an authentic Italian restaurant ideal for dining out, as well as a beautiful lakefront setting surrounded by ancient villas, townhouses and lush gardens around the atmospheric Fiumelatte river. The village also benefits from a frequent bus service, a mainline train station with services to Lecco and Milan and a lake road which leads directly into the resort town of Varenna in a matter of minutes! Varenna is the perfect town to explore during your stay, with the famous attractions of Villa Monastero with its botanical gardens and the ancient Castello di Vezio with its falconry displays and medieval displays during the summertime. The beautiful town is also very popular with romantics who are drawn to its tree-lined piazzas featuring boutique shops, its pretty café-lined lakefront with its scenic promenade and fine lake view dining, which can be found in the many hotels on the eastern shore of the town. A fast and frequent car and passenger ferry service runs from the town to Bellagio and Menaggio, making the other central lake attractions all highly accessible. Central lake activities include lake and lido swimming, golf, tennis, water sports, sailing, kayaking, paragliding, hiking and cycling.

The apartment had heavy cobwebs in EVERY SINGLE ROOM! The office did very little to address this in a timely manner. Only after several texts and phone calls was this addressed. Had a broom been available in the apartment, I would have taken care of it myself. The water heater was not turned on when we arrived, and I could not find a manual or list of instructions, but figured it out on my own. The paper on the back of the door with a QR code for video tutorials was useless, as the property we were in was not listed. We also found out after talking to Diego, that only one roll of toilet paper would be provided for 4 people for a week. We only had 2 people staying, but had originally booked for 4. Again, no info in the unit to alert us to this. While the view on the terrace was stunning, the lounge chairs “provided” were both broken. Some form of shade-providing device (umbrella, maybe?) would have made the space much more usable. A wall in the master bedroom was very poorly attempted repairs to fix water damage. It looked like active black mold on the bottom 12 inches of the wall. Very unpleasant to look at and a potential health hazard. The sponge in the kitchen, presumably for washing dishes and wiping surfaces, was used and dirty. Upon leaving the property, we loaded the dishwasher, but it did not turn on. We had to wash the dishes by hand , which was not what we had planned time for. We ended up leaving a day early and spending our last night in Varenna in a hotel…no cobwebs. This was by far the worst VRBO experience we have ever had. I will definitely rethink booking for our next vacation. If anyone asks for a recommendation for the region, I will not recommend Lake Como Holiday or VRBO.

Hedegaard Reviewed on 25.07.2023 Pros: THE VIEW Size of the apartment Garage for the car Towels and bedlinen available Easy check-in and check-out Short walk for a swim in the lake Well equiped kitchen in terms om hardware like oven, freezer etc (tableware/ kitchen utensils was lacking a little bit though) It’s possible to walk to Varenna Cons: Chairs/table on terrace gave us all an unpleasant itch on legs and under-arms + chairs made our clothes white. Perhaps it was glass fibre dust or something from the chairs/table that caused the itch. Very strange why there is no parasol/sun-umbrella available for the terrace. We had to bring one from home, since otherwise it’s way too hot to make use of the fantastic terrace. Wi-fi didn’t work Travelers tip: If you’re going out for dinner, pre-book a table!

The beds were HORRIBLE and the PARKING TERRIBLE. The host on the phone totally unfriendly. The apartment was clean however the shower uncomfortable.
