Casa Cattaneo is an ideal location for small families or couples. It is easily accessible by car from Locarno in just under 20 minutes. An outdoor parking space is available for guests right in front of the house. The apartment is located on the first floor of a building comprising only two units. Next to the parking area, a staircase with a handrail leads directly to the large terrace and the entrance to the home. Upon entering, a bathroom with a shower and a window is immediately to the left of the hallway. To the right of the hallway lies the double bedroom, featuring a large window with a mountain view. Further along, you will find the separate kitchen, fully equipped with a dishwasher, oven, refrigerator, freezer, and all the essentials needed to prepare your favorite meals. At the end of the hallway is the inviting living room, featuring a window, direct access to the terrace, a single bed, a two-seater sofa, a TV, and included Wi-Fi. The large terrace in front of the living room is the perfect spot for intimate moments or social gatherings, whether for aperitifs, lunches, or dinners outdoors. Terrace amenities include two deckchairs, an outdoor table, a parasol, and an awning to provide shade on hotter days. Note: Upon arrival, you will find a complimentary welcome kit that includes a bath towel and a hand towel per person, a shower kit, two rolls of toilet paper, a kitchen kit with dish soap and a sponge, and a 35-liter trash bag. As this is self-catering accommodation, these items are provided as a courtesy in case you have forgotten anything. Any other products you may need during your stay can be purchased at nearby supermarkets. The destination is also highly popular among sports enthusiasts due to the many opportunities for outdoor activities. The village of Maggia is situated in Ticino's largest valley—traversed by the Maggia River—which is famous for its stone villages, waterfalls (such as the Foroglio waterfall), and side valleys like Val Bavona and Val Lavizzara. Val Bavona and Foroglio: A captivating side valley featuring stone houses, pastures, and the spectacular Foroglio Waterfall. Mogno: Famous for the distinctive Church of San Giovanni Battista, designed by architect Mario Botta. Bosco Gurin: Ticino’s highest village, located in Val Rovana, known for its strong Walser heritage and language. Maggia and the Salto Waterfall: A stunning waterfall just minutes from the village of Maggia, perfect to combine with a walk. Ponte Brolla: Known for its granite gorges carved by the river—ideal for admiring the scenery or swimming in safe spots. Recommended activities Trekking and hiking: Over 700 km of trails, including the Salto Valley Loop and high-altitude routes. River relaxation: Areas such as Gordevio, Lodano, and Avegno offer beautiful spots along the banks of the Maggia River. Lunch at *Grotti*: Traditional local restaurants serving typical Ticinese dishes; these establishments are widespread and renowned for their unique culinary offerings and welcoming, family-like atmosphere.
